Abou Samra is one of Tripoli's largest residential districts, spread over the hill that rises above the old city to the south-east. Its streets are lined with apartment buildings, neighbourhood shops, schools and mosques, and the district has views over the city and the sea. It is a short drive from the old souks, the city centre around Sahat al-Nour and the road towards Koura.

It is also the busiest area of Tripoli on REVERA, with 198 listings, three-quarters of them apartments. Prices are below the city average: half of the apartments for sale are priced between $77,500 and $115,000, with a median of $90,000 for about 155 m² and three bedrooms — roughly $600 per m², against about $700 for Tripoli as a whole. Abou Samra also has 26 shops for sale, usually small units of around 40 m² priced from $62,500 to $130,000, plus a few warehouses, storage units and building plots. Almost everything is for sale; rentals are rare.
